Aluminum hydroxide, Magnesium hydroxide are used together to relieve heartburn and upset stomach. They may be used to treat these symptoms in patients with peptic ulcer, gastric hyperacidity, gastritis, and esophagitis.
Activated Dimethicone, also known as polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), is silicone oil with antifoaming, antiflatulent and antibloating properties.
Activated Dimethicone is also refers as Simethicone (Dimethicone + silicone dioxide) and is most common additive of antacid. It is commonly used antiflatulent material to eliminate trapped gas and as a foam suppressant in pharmaceutical process such as mixing, percolation, fermentation and as an agent to improve the efficiency of bottle filling when foaming is a problem.

This combination is used for:
- Gastric distention
- Peptic ulcer
- Stomach pain
- Functional digestive disorder
- Dyspepsia
- Burning
- Nausea and excess gas.

Dimethicone works by forming an oily layer on the top of the skin that traps water and moistures the skin. Activated Dimethicone relieves flatulence by preventing formation of mucus surrounding gas pockets in the gastro-intestinal tract. It lowers the surface tension of the gas bubbles and bringing together all the small bubbles of gas to form large bubble, which then expelled out.
As activated Dimethicone is released into the saliva, it starts giving relief from gastrointestinal disturbance in GI. It does not prevents the formation of gas in the digestive tract rather, it increase the rate of elimination of gas.
Magnesium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide neutralize gastric acid resulting in an increase in the pH of the stomach.

- Use with caution in kidney patients.
- Dimethicone/aluminum/ magnesium suspension may increase the side effects of anticoagulants (warfarin), quinidine.
This suspension may decrease the effectiveness of following medicines:
- ACE inhibitors
- Beta blockers
- Bisphosphonates
- Cyclosporine
- Tetracycline
- Imidazoles
- Penicillamine
- Quinolones

Prolonged use of aluminum containing antacid may result in elevated tissue aluminum levels. Aluminum is not well removed by dialysis because it is bound to albumin and transferrin, which do not cross dialysis membranes. As a result, aluminum is deposited in bone and dialysis osteomalacia may develop, and it contributes to development of the dialysis encephalopathy and osteomalacia syndrome.

Store at room temperature do not freeze.
